Celebrating Chinese New Year at Sutherlands Childcare and Kindergarten provided the children with an opportunity to explore another culture and to be proud of their own community. This year, it was celebrated on the 12th of February and is the year of the ox, take a peek at the children exploring the Chinese culture.
Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival, is a traditional and important holiday celebrated in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia, and other Asian countries and communities around the globe. Celebrations last up to 16 days, beginning with a family dinner the night before Chinese New Year, and ending with a lantern festival. Red pockets, or 红包 (hóng bāo), are small red envelopes filled with lucky money and given to children.

This room caters for children between 0- 15 months old and is ran by a Diploma Qualified Lead Educator.
We understand how anxious it can be having to put your baby into care when returning to work. This is why our educators work in partnerships with families to provide a consistent routine for the children between home and the room.
